It started as a Christmas gift for their mom, who hasn't been professionally photographed since her first pregnancy over thirty years ago.
Maria is a youthful matriarch whose smile is radiant and all encompassing. Her family lives near Lake Arrowhead, two hours east of Los Angeles. Although it took us a few months to finally get the chance to work together, their session has been one of my favorites to date.
Professional hair and makeup, multiple outfit and background changes and a late afternoon appearance by their menfolk, provided us with an album’s worth of incredible keepsakes they can cherish for decades to come. We made sure to capture each woman's individuality as well as their roles within the family. We also snapped some solos of Maria’s two year-old granddaughter, who frankly, stole the show.
These beautiful people made the time and investment to celebrate their unity and each other in a way that will last lifetimes. It was such an honor to serve their legacy.
